The Biotene products (e.g., Oralbalance Gel) are very helpful for dry mouth.  We get lots of positive feedback about these products from people with oral cancer, Sjogren's syndrome, Parkinson's disease, etc..

Would this not be a major problem if some amounts of the product were 
aspirated?  To aspirate something that will retain water (and I am assuming then 
other fluids as well)?  I suppose I am just not confident in the swish-and-spit 
abilities of a patient with oral motor problems, and I would think 
recommendations for use of these laxatives with that objective would have to be very 
carefully made.
