Parkland Health & Hospital System (located in Dallas, Texas) has an opening for a licensed speech language pathologist. Parkland Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and Regional Burn Center. Parkland is the Dallas County teaching hospital for UT Southwestern Medical School.

Speech Pathology at Parkland serves medically complex patients admitted to acute care neurosurgery, trauma, burn, neurology, otolaryngology and medicine services. Speech Pathology also provides care to those individuals on the inpatient rehab unit and in the outpatient rehab program. Modified Barium Swallows and FEES are used in dysphagia diagnostics. Patient populations include (but are not limited to): traumatic brain injury, stroke, tracheostomized and ventilator dependent, trauma induced injuries to the face/neck affecting communication and swallowing, and complex neuro pathology.

Specialty programs include a large ENT program providing services to head & neck cancer patients (with an emphasis on laryngectomy) and voice patients (utilizing videostroboscopy and Visi Pitch for diagnostics). Speech Pathology also provides services in our neo-natal intensive care unit. (Parkland Hopsital is known for delivering the most babies in the country each year.)
