[Dysphagia] CP & swallowing

Dear colleagues,
I am seeing a 7 year old CP boy who has difficulty chewing and swallowing. However, he has a strong cough reflex. He also has various other allergies, leaving him with little choice of food selection. Though he has a gastro button, he has been taking oral intake for 3 years now and last MBS was done about that time with a result of pooling.
Recently, he's had some form of asthma attack. I wonder if this sudden attack was caused by his eating and swallowing difficulty? Is it an indication of aspiration? He has been going for chest x-ray periodically for the past 1-2 years now. Is it mandatory that he gets an MBS done soon? Please advice as the nearest MBS is in Singapore, though it won't be a problem for Mom to arrange that. Would it be wise to continue oral intake?
Thanks and appreciate your advise,
