[Dysphagia] pneumonia vs pneumonitis
I was also informed not too long ago that the reimbursement for aspiration pneumonia has become higher than other pneumonia types & that consequently rates of this diagnosis have increased.

Subject: [Dysphagia] pneumonia vs pneumonitis
Could somebody please tell me how doctors differentiate between pneumonitis and aspiration pneumonia? Is a sputum culture required? It seems that the doctors where I work label most lung changes as aspiration pneumonia, I have never seen pneumonitis written in a chart.
Thanks
