[Dysphagia] HSV Encephalitis

Does anyone have experience of therapy for patients with Herpes Simplex
Virus Encephalitis? I have a 61year old lady, 10 months post infection,
who has ongoing difficulties with retained secretions and laryngeal
spasm, which causes significant disruption to her normal breathing
pattern. She has difficulties with coordinating breathing and swallowing
with intermittent coughing on thin fluids. She also has a wide range of
other difficulties including problems with eating solids due to
cognitive problems; significant problems with executive functions;
amnesia; arousal problems etc. She has required hospital admission
recently for breathing difficulties.
If anyone has treated patients with similar difficulties, I would be
very grateful for your experiences.
Many thanks]
