[Dysphagia] epiglottic movement

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this listserve and thought I'd just jump in with a question to
see if I can pick your brains a little. I've got a 62 yo male, s/p surgery
6/04 to remove left side cancerous lymph nodes, left tonsil, followed by 7
wks radiation tx ending 9/04. He still displays significant tissue edema at
and around the surgical sites, and demonstrates penetration w/ all po
presentations/consistencies secondary to, in part, a lack of epiglottic
movement. I'm currently treating w/ isometric neck exercises, tongue base
retraction exercises, and estim for general laryngeal strengthening, but am
wondering if anyone has any suggestions regarding any "wonder" tx's for
increasing epiglottic movement. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.
