Hi everyone,
Sorry for the off-topic post, but this listserve is
such a great resource that I wanted to see if anyone
had any feedback on an issue that has arisen with an
aphasia patient of mine.
I have a 27 y/o aphasia patient, s/p CVA, who really
wants to drive again and has taken and failed his
drivers' test 5 times. (His CVA was 2 years ago.) He
keeps failing the test b/c of language difficulty with
the written portion. (He has receptive language
deficits.) I believe this last time his mother read
the questions aloud for him, but it was still too
difficult for him language-wise. Does anyone know of
any precedents in terms of modifications to drivers'
testing being made for people with aphasia?
Thanks in advance for any responses...
