Hi, Eric:

What usually works for me is to let the TEP site close up a bit. Remove the 20Fr prosthesis and go back to 18Fr urinary catheter which the pt wears at all times for at least 3-4 days 24-7. The TEP site should shrink down so that the 18Fr catheter fits tightly. Next remove the 18Fr cath and insert a 16Fr cath for at least 3-4 days or until the TEP site shrinks down again. Repeat with a 14Fr catheter. Now you are ready to go back to a 16Fr prosthesis.
