[Dysphagia] Re: RN Dysphagia Screen



Many of you have emailed me about difficulty opening the RN screen attachment.  I have copied and pasted it below (please note that some of the check boxes did not transfer and the format has changed a little). 
I also was asked if the RN's are good about consulting us if appropriate.  At the end of this screen, you will see check boxes "yes" and "no" to response of SLP consult warranted.  If they check on "yes", then it is interfaced with a computer system in rehab to alert us.  Our rehab tech then goes and places a sticker in the chart to alert the MD team that this particular patient was screened at risk for aspiration and would benefit from a SLP consult.  (It is kind of set up like a nutritional or fall assessment).
