[Dysphagia] Laryngospasm in Kennedy's disease

Has anyone heard of laryngospasm occurring with client's with Kennedy's
Disease?
I have a client who experiences occasional (1-2 times/week, to once/3
weeks) "neck cramping" when drinking Thin fluids, where his "throat
closes down" and he "can't regain his breath" for a few scary seconds.
The VF of course showed no penetration/aspiration due to the infrequency
of the events, but definite reduced laryngeal elevation (although good
forward hyoid movement), and subsequent mild residue in vallec and
pyriform.
I'm thinking he probably at least penetrates occasionally due to the
reduced movement and wonder if his vocal folds "cramp" as he experiences
in his other muscles in his body.
Anyone had a similar client experience to share? Any tx suggestions
other than chin tuck? (Obviously effortful swallow won't help with
muscle fatigue).
Thanks
Brenda
