[Dysphagia] sterilizing feeding equipment

We use regular dishwashing liquid first to do a standard wash, then we soak
the equipment in a Steramine solution. One steramine tablet is needed per
gallon of hot water, and the dishes soak for at least one minute. Then you
let the dishes air dry in a dish rack.
If we tried to send the adaptive equipment out to be cleaned in the facility
dishwasher the turn-around time would not be quick enough for the next meal,
and also we'd probably lose many pieces that way. So, we prefer to do it
with Steramine ourselves.

Subject: [Dysphagia] sterilizing feeding equipment
Hi all,
Looking for suggestions on quick and easy ways to
sterilize feeding equipment (cups, utensils) used with
dysphagia patients at our clinic...what are other
clinics doing to ensure that feeding equipment is
sterilized?
Thanks in advance,
Sandi
