Also... Irene can we ever be sure and count the number of muscles 
involved ...I think it is an estimate ,,,and catch phrases ........ I am 
happy they atleast got five CN ...some of the Drs have problem even with 
them :-)

*** Many individuals are born lacking some of the small submental muscles required for elevation of the hyoid. They have anterior movement only - which is quite sufficient. This is not as important as missing one of the required cranial nerves.
