[Dysphagia] Yanagihara Grading System

Has anyone on the list been properly trained to do the Yanagihara Grading System for Facial Palsy? I have a new patient with Bell's Palsy who I will assess with it tomorrow.

I'm driving myself crazy though trying to accurately determine what the direction "depress lower lip" really means. My first thought was that it meant "frown" but then I thought it could mean "curl down" and then perhaps "pull in and down."

Thanks for the assistance,
Linda A. Zanchi, MA CCC-SLP
