[Dysphagia] Bipolar disorder and dysphagia

There is no reason for someone with bipolar disorder alone to have swallowing problems. The impairment derives from the treatment. If this patient is taking any of the following, often used to treat bipolar disorder, then swallowing problems are highly likely:
Risperidone, haldol, carbamazepine, lithium, olanzapine and other psychotropic meds.
Medications are the reason that deaths from asphyxia in psychiatric hospitals are 100 times greater than in the general population.
