Received info today on an elderly gentleman, advanced dementia who had been recommend as NPO - why, I can't imagine - but who was prescribed Phenergan. The instructions for taking this medication are :"Take with a full glass of water." Since water is recommended for the ingestion of just about all pills as well, I wonder how one would deal with this one? Not only the side effects but the mode of ingestion has to be considered.
