Exactly.  I recognize that there must be interpretation of the base information re:  how it specificly applies to what we know about swallowing.  I am quite wary of a published book for meds given the constant flux in choosing appropriate meds.  I have an older book on meds and effect on comm. dis. and I hardly look at it anymore because the meds people get prescribed now aren't even acknowledged in the book and weren't even out at the time it was published.

Actually, the information from the manufacturer almost never identifies a  
problem with oropharyngeal swallowing. One has to go to the literature and also  
be able to recognize that certain side effects as described by the 
manufacturer  are likely to cause problems. It takes me a great deal of time to make 
sure that  my CD on Meds and swallowing - all several hundred megabytes of it - 
remains up  to date.
