It seems that the psychiatrist is not aware that depression is endemic to
PD, not in response to it . It cannot be treated by standard antidepressants
which is the reason that Deprenyl was regarded as such a boon - it not only
treats the depression (being an MAO inhibitor) but also improves the
parkinsonism. Is everyone sure that this man has PD and not PSP? Also, is he is on
Sinemet? Problems with its delivery often bring about the impression that the
disease is more advanced than it is.
