Of course, five minutes after posting I think of a little more.

When I was given the referral for the patient with nutcracker esophagus the thorough review of the files and texts in my trunk (I travel between buildings :) ) revealed what it was but absolutely nothing about what could be done for it.  The formidable Dr. Donohue changed all that.

With regard to the column, I have many of his letters copied in larger print to use as resources for my patients.  He explains varying disorders concisely and in a manner that can be understood by all.  Furthermore, the predominance of my patients read his column and if he says something, it has to be true; his power been known to save me a lot of explanation time!
