[Dysphagia] references about botox to the CP
I live in western Montana (Missoula) and have a
patient who I believe would benefit from botox to the
CP. Does anyone know of a Dr. who does botox to the
CP in western MT? Is it mostly done by ENTs or GIs or
both? I did speak to a GI who has done dilatation on
this patient twice and he is interested in learning
how to use botox for the CP but he has not done it. I
said I would try to get some more info for him. I
know it can be done under flouro, EMG guided, or
endoscopically but I don't have any other detailed
info. We are opting for botox so that he won't have
to undergo general anesthesia, which is risky on this
guy. Any help is appreciated. This patient can only
take thin liquids at this time b/c of his CP
dysfunction and he is willing to try anything to eat
again. He is only in his 50s.
Thanks!
