Well, this is the magic ticket, isn't it?
I can't give specific citations, but in the realms of aphasia therapy,
shorter more frequent sessions yielded the best results. However, in OP,
this is logistically not happening as far as I know.
I just started subscribing to a few other ASHA SIDs listserves besides
dysphagia, and lo and behold the research issue for supporting
intervention is there, too.
I just have to laugh, because I have started physical therapy for back
problems, and while I was waiting for insurance approval, I saw a
massage therapist , who poo-poo-d conventional medicine because of
"greed" but then asked if I wanted to come back next week for a $85
dollar rain drop massage to relieve the congestion in my spine (??) So,
I start physical therapy, and the after the eval, the therapist did some
cranial sacral techniques, which I know does not have the research
needed to support it.
So, do we stay inert and do nothing until the gold standard research is
completed,...it's a fine line to walk, isn't it?
