[Dysphagia] Homemade Blended Formula Handbook

Questions about creating homemade blended formulas for children who
are tube fed are asked intermittently by members of this list.
Getting support from professionals and knowing where to begin and how
to develop and customize a formula for a child create challenges for
everyone. For several years Marsha Dunn Klein and I have been
collecting information from parents and writing the Homemade Blended
Formula Handbook. It is finally finished and is at the publisher.
We expect the book to be ready for delivery in early September.

This collection of 35 reproducible chapters and 16 food references
charts has been written by both of us (Marsha Dunn Klein MEd., OTR/L
and Suzanne Evans Morris, PhD, CCC-SLP) as well as parents of
children who are fed by tube, a physician (Sanford Newmark, MD), and
two dietitians (Ellen Duperret, RD and Jude Trautlein, RD). The book
is designed as a reference and ?how to? for parents and professionals
who together are making the choice to try a homemade blended diet for
tube feeding.

Although it is targeted primarily at a pediatric population, much of
the book is highly appropriate for adults.

Detailed information on the book, including a listing of chapters and
an article, ?An Introduction to Homemade Blended Formulas? is
available at
