[Dysphagia] thickened liquids

Actually, in this brand it is the second ingredient but in the previous brand, sugar was the third ingredient:
Novartis Thickened Water - Water, food starch modified (corn), sugar, natural flavour, phosphoric acid

The dieticians we met with said that the Carbotrol products apparently had less carbohydrates than the Novartis brand.  We all thought that the Carbotrol did tend to taste sweeter, except for the cranberry juice which was extremely tart!

Whether we like it or not, it's now the brand on contract.  I think I'll be even more cautious than currently as far as recommending thickened water instead of regular water.  I usually would much rather someone clean their mouth well, move around if possible and drink regular water.
