What can be done to reduce or eliminate the swallowing of air for a gentleman who has mental retardation? He doesn't seem to do it on the first of a series of consecutive swallows of liquids, but always does it on single sips and the final consecutive swallow of liquids, and on solids. He has abdominal bloating from the air, and the nurse practitioner wants to know if there are any positions or adaptive equipment that might help.
