All professionals should update their knowledge on a regular basis. the wrokshop I referred to is NOT "updating" but very basic.  This is material that should be mastered before attempting to see a patient. I don't see any workshops/publications on the recently announced findings re thickening fluids and "chin tuck" in the elderly. Now that would be updating.

  Well said Barbara, and have you noted that "look down attitude" other 
professionals have ..they think SLP do only MBS and dysphagia ..we have host of 
other areas in SLP to update all the time
