[Dysphagia] Sjögren's Syndrome

Hi,

I have seen a few people with this syndrome (50-60yrs old). Has your patient trialled any saliva replacements? Clinically, I have found (with some) that this benefits the oral phase of the swallowing especially. Although some of these patients are not willing to use it.

hi. is anyone familiar with Sj?gren's Syndrome? i'd like to solicit your advice and suggestions regarding management.

i have a 70- year old patient who reported decreased salivation and has problems with swallowing. with my research, these symptoms are consistent with the symptoms of the syndrome which include dry mouth, difficulty or inability to swallow (dysphagia), tooth decay (dental caries), impaired taste and smell, dry eyes, eye pain, eye redness, muscle pain (myalgia), and fatigue (http://www.answers.com/topic/sj-gren-s-syndrome).

  thank you.
