A patient of a colleague so not sure of specific details but here's the =
scenerio.....Problem: Pt with hoarse voice, frequent cough and =
difficulty swallowing at times...dx with a hiatal hernia that is =
horrible (her stomach is a mess)....Her stomach is completely in her =
chest cavity (and four ulcers there)...Doc says he has never seen a =
hernia this bad...He said her trouble(swallowing/voice) is probably =
from the acid reflux...if the pt wants....he will do a scope while she =
is under sedation....entirely up to the patient....Tumors are ruled out =
but why so much swelling around her vocal chords....there is no hurry =
and she may not want to check it out at all.....didn't say but imagine =
he put her on diet and meds.....any thoughts guys???....does sound like =
severe reflux....any experience with this??? thanks to all for your =
help....spkez
